Her debut film, “But I Want to Leave the Party”, now available for viewing on Apple TV and Google Play, was a poignant exploration of mental health, depression, and the associated stigmas. The film authentically addresses the often-unspoken challenges faced by those with suicidal thoughts, grounded in Tiffany’s personal experiences and research.
Her work has ignited essential discussions about mental health, aiming to foster understanding among individuals and their families. The film’s significant success, highlighted by 90 awards and 29 nominations, underscores its impactful contribution to ongoing dialogues in this crucial area.
“I’m not one to shy away from doing difficult things. (…) I just focused on what I wanted on the other side of the ‘hard things’ – All the things you want in life are usually on the other side of something tedious, arduous, requiring some great effort, or ‘hard’”, she said in a recent interview for RIVAL Magazine.
Her visionary mentality, self-management and entrepreneurship is a testament of it, distinguishing her as a unique filmmaker whose work grows like wildfire.
Her film “But I Want to Leave the Party” is a stirring exploration of mental health, a subject that often remains shrouded in silence. Tiffany’s raw and honest portrayal of depression was based on her own experience, a sort of retelling of her own history. In this case, and by portraying the experiences in another person, she could make it with a ‘safe distance’.
