55-Year-Old Scooter Rider Dies after Vehicle Collision near Central Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (January 16, 2023) – Late Saturday, police responded to a crash that claimed the life of Thomas Michael Lee.

The crash happened on December 24th, near Central Avenue and Glendale Avenue involving a motorized scooter and a vehicle.

According to Phoenix police, 55-year-old Lee was heading west on Glendale Avenue when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with the vehicle. As a result of the collision, Lee suffered serious injuries.

First responders transported Lee to a local hospital in critical condition. He did not survive and was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle was not hurt and he did not appear to be impaired.
