This Year’s Rose Parade Floats Are More Elaborate Than Ever [Photos]

This was one of those years when New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, so the Tournament of Roses parade rolls down Orange Grove and Colorado boulevards on a Monday. The big story this year — besides USC's big win over Penn State — seemed to be Al Roker losing his cool over the float that featured surfing dogs. (“Look at the wiener dog!”) After all the initial excitement, the floral floats were parked along Sierra Madre and Washington boulevards for a showcase.
If you missed the action on Monday, the floats are available for viewing, along with live music and food. We suggest you bring comfortable walking shoes and a lot of patience, as many other Angelenos will be out to smell the roses. The floats are available for viewing on Tuesday, Jan. 3, until 4 p.m.; admission is $13.
