Last January, we reviewed a small show at Bordello from burlesque troupe Devil's Playground that parodied Star Wars. It sort of blew up. Producer Courtney Cruz and her gang of entertainers took the extravaganza to The Music Box for an encore performance early last spring. Then in May, the Devil's Playground founder was profiled in our annual People Issue for a story titled “The Fempire Strikes Back,” which, we should add, is now the name of her new show. Consider us flattered. You can catch the “galactic burlesque parody” Saturday night at The Music Box. For more information and to buy tickets go to Courtney Cruz's website or www.wantickets.com. All proceeds go to Busted Foundation, a fundraising organization that supports women diagnosed with breast cancer. We'll see you there.
