If you've ever sat at a Starbucks — or on the sofa — and struggled with writer's block, comedian and screenwriter C.W. Neill feels your pain. Coffee shops are the refuge of the half-assed, who go there to do work only to get sidetracked updating this and tweeting that. Except Neill turned his lack of inspiration into a popular Tumblr, Untitled Screenplays, and a book, This Movie Will Require Dinosaurs. He started the blog in 2013 as a collection of half-page, unfinished scripts that don't go beyond a few lines, and read something like this: “Int.: I Don't Know, An Apartment? Curtis sits on the couch or whatever. Maybe he's standing. It doesn't matter.” Neill hopes to inspire other procrastinators in This Show Will Require Dinosaurs, which will offer actors reading excerpts from the book, with Neill narrating. He's bringing along stand-up comics Joselyn Hughes, Beth Stelling and Jonah Ray (co-star of Comedy Central's new The Meltdown With Jonah & Kumail)for anyone who's not too lazy to laugh. Nerdmelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics, 7522 Sunset Blvd., Hlywd.; Tue., July 29, 7 p.m.; $8 in advance, $10 at the door. (323) 851-7223, nerdmeltla.com.
