Summertime is just around the corner and the kids will be out of school soon. I want them to have an enriching adventure-filled summer, so I have been thinking about different “field trips” we could go on as a family – and I thought I would share!

Griffith Observatory

This is a great place for the family because it’s free and there is a ton of interesting information about outer space that captures both kid and adult minds. There is also a park for the kids to run free and explore!

Malibu Cafe

Malibu Cafe is a beautiful spot that our family has had some really sweet memories at. It has a gorgeous view of the ocean with delicious food that appeases everyone’s appetite!

The Beach

Beach days are an all-around crowd pleaser in my family. The kids love playing in the sand and water and it is a sweet time of relaxing for my husband and me. Our favorite beach is Paradise Cove in Malibu!

The Descanso Gardens

These gardens never fail to take my breath away. No matter what season they have beautiful flowers in bloom. It is a sweet place to take the kids to learn about and appreciate nature.

The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Garden

My kids adore arts and crafts so being able to take them somewhere that showcases art so beautifully is a treat. Everywhere you look there is something engaging and catching your eye.

El Capitan Theater

This is a fully renovated old Hollywood theater that creates a movie experience you will never forget. For new movies, they bring costumes and props from the movie sets for customers to view before and after the movie. There are also a ton of restaurants around the area to enjoy!

La Brea Tar Pits

Going to the tar pits is something that I think everyone should go and experience. It is so fascinating and educational for kids and adults. There are demonstrations and presentations given by the staff as well as different excavations to go look at.

The Last Bookstore

This shop is in the heart of L.A. and is a classic spot to go to. There are tons of books to look through, but it is also just fun to walk around and explore!

Rooftop Cinema Club at the Santa Monica Airport

Drive-in movies are so fun to bring the whole family to. The range of movies offered provides for a space that can accommodate a date night or family night!

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles

The NHMLA is a place that can offer hours of entertainment for the whole family. They have a ton of dinosaur bones to look at, a butterfly pavilion, and many different outlets to learn history!

Doing things as a family always creates so many sweet memories and this summer I am looking forward to creating so many more!
