While Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that city-run vaccination sites would be forced to close down this weekend due to a dose shortage, there will still be a multiple L.A. County-run sites operating and administering second doses.

L.A. Public Health noted that the COVID-19 vaccination sites located at the Pomona Fairplex, The Forum in Inglewood, California State University, Northridge, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia and the L.A. County office of education in Downey would all be open and offering second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to healthcare workers and seniors at age 65 years or older.

The Balboa Sports Complex in Encino and the El Sereno Recreation Center will also continue to offer the Moderna vaccine to healthcare workers and those at the age of 65 or older.

Appointments can be made at these locations, or if second-dose appointments were already scheduled, documentation must be provided, either by a first-dose confirmation email, a “white card” with the date of the first dose, or a letter from Public Health.

Those receiving a second dose must get the same vaccine they received for the first dose from either Pfizer or Moderna.

While first doses will not be given at these sites, the L.A. Public Health Department noted that some L.A. pharmacies and clinics may still be offering first doses, and those appointments may be made at VaccinateLAcounty.com.
