59-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near North First Street

FRESNO, CA (July 22, 2022) – Saturday night, Theodore Ceja was pronounced dead after a pedestrian hit-and-run near Belmont Street.

The incident happened on July 16th, just before midnight, near the intersection of Belmont Avenue and North First Street.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that medics located Ceja unresponsive in the road upon arrival.

Investigators also say the involved driver fled the area without rendering aid to the severely injured victim. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 59-year-old Ceja dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the suspect driver is still at large. An active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
