The Vegan Street Fair returns to North Hollywood on Sunday, March 26, with a record list of vendors from far and wide including A Taste of Africa, Happy Ice, Gooey Center Bakery and Rock & Roll Pizza, in addition to music and plant-based clothing designers.    

SALT’s Meet Your Makers Series continues tonight with Let the Good Times Be(Gin) with Sipsong Spirits in honor of International Women’s Month, featuring the makers behind Sipsong Spirits, a female-founded brand. On Thursday, April 20, take Flights and Bites with Tooth & Nail Winery featuring the Paso Robles-based winery.

Citizen Public Market in Culver City welcomes three new residents to the food hall this week  – Bang Bang Noodles, Uoichiba Temaki + Chirashi and ILÉ Bistro. Bang Bang Noodles by Chef Robert Lee and Uoichiba Temaki + Chirashi by Liwei Liao from The Joint Seafood are now open, and ILÉ Bistro, the experimental West African concept from Chef Tolu Eros opens on Friday, March 24. Rooftop seating also is being expanded to double the size in anticipation of drier days.

De La Nonna in DTLA has extended its weekly hours to include walk-in lunch service  Thursday through Saturday starting at noon. It will stay open from noon through dinner service, with the menu transitioning  to dinner at 4 p.m. The menu includes a lunch-only lox pizza special. Additionally, this weekend the team is launching the Late Night Slice Window to accommodate post disco munchies at The Let’s Go Disco. Weekends only to start, the window runs from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., on Friday and Saturday, and serves $5-$6 slices of Nonna’s favorites (Margarita, Sicilian, Pepperoni). 

The Tinned Fish Mini Summit at Saltie Girl takes place on Monday, March 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The new West Hollywood seafood hotspot will celebrate International Women’s Month with an evening of  conversation with the powerful, LA-based women at the forefront of the tinned fish cultural phenomenon including Becca Millstein, co-founder and CEO of Fishwife; Lydia Clarke, owner of Kippered; and Saltie Girl founder Kathy Sidell. The panel will be moderated by Resy LA editor Jamie Feldmar. Champagne from Laurent Perrier and small bites by Saltie Girl featuring Fishwife will accompany a discussion on the latest food trend. There will be salmon rillettes with Everything Buns, warm cockles with grilled bread, caviar dip, anchovy toast, a selection of tins with accouterments and mini chocolate chip cookies from SweetBoy. Tickets are available for $50 on Resy

Anna May Bar at Crustacean Beverly Hills has brought back the Power Lunch for $39. Pop in on Tuesday for ribeye banh-mi pho dip made with eight-hour broth and aged cheddar, Wednesday for five spice chicken salad seasoned with Vietnamese cinnamon, Thursday for Chef An’s famous garlic noodles paired with Jidori chicken satay, and Friday for wild mushroom wontons dipped in ginger lemongrass couli, all finished with a Verona chocolate chip cookie sprinkled with sea salt. There’s a full four-day vegetarian lineup as well. The lunch runs Tuesday to Friday from noon to 3 p.m., at the Anna May Bar & Lounge Patio. 

Colorful and animated Aussie bartender Martin Hudák and International Bartender of the Year 2019 will be in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 26, to host a Maybe Sammy pop-up with his award-winning team at Thunderbolt. Infamous for bringing a bubble gun along to all of his guest shifts, the owner of the Maybe Sammy bar in Sydney will serve up caffeinated cocktails among other libations.
