Two years after closing its restaurant doors, JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles is welcoming diners back with a series of educational culinary popup experiences, starting with the A5 Wagyu Experience dinner series, which will run regularly during early 2022 starting on Wednesday, Feb. 23. The dinner series will delve into the magic of Japanese wagyu beef flavors, farming practices and lesser-known cuts. Learn how Japanese wagyu beef is traced to individual cows and how wagyu is graded. The Wednesday series continues on March 9, 16, 23 and 30, and April 6. In support of local small businesses, Mondrian Los Angeles will be hosting a pop up with Unity Bagels in the hotel bar lobby on Friday, Feb. 11 through Monday, Feb. 14.  Visitors and hotel guests can order from the Unity Bagels pop-up menu available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., featuring items like Bagels with Dressing – hand-rolled, poached and baked daily; Unity Sandwich Creations served with locally sourced Kruegermanns half sour pickle; as well as a selection of coffee and juices. Unity Bagels is the local pop-up bagel stand that can be found in the Farmers Market on Melrose and in Marina Del Rey.

Garrison Brothers Distillery has teamed up with McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams to create the ultimate whiskey ice cream flavor –  Garrison Bros. Whiskey & Pecan Pralines. The flavor will be launching online for nationwide shipping and in McConnell’s scoop shops on Friday Feb. 18, and features smooth, sweet, smoky ‘n spicy Garrison Brothers Small Batch bourbon and salt-roasted and caramel-coated pecans.  

Move over almond and oat milk, here comes sesame milk! On Friday, Feb. 18 beginning at 8 a.m., LA locals are invited to Kindness & Mischief Coffee House for a morning of Sesame Milk lattes, while supplies last. Hosted by Hope and Sesame Sesame Milk, the event is a part of the “Death Before Decaf: The Breakup Tour,” which serves to support local small businesses. 

The seventh annual Dine Out Long Beach, Restaurant & Cocktail Week kicks off on Friday, Feb. 18. The 10-day celebration of food, wine, beer and spirits will feature a long list of vendors in Long Beach, including Aji Peruvian, District Wine, Michael’s On Naples,123 Pho, Café Sevilla, The Crooked Duck, Belmont Brewing Company ,The Bamboo Club, Lola’s,The Good Bar and Liv’s on 2nd, just to name a few. 

Hailing from York City, The Pizza Cupcake is hosting a surprise pop-up on Saturday, Feb. 12  from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a 25-foot food truck at 1399 Ocean Ave., in Santa Monica, featuring bites and other surprises in celebration of Super Bowl weekend.
