Last winter, while standing in a cold parking lot during a press event for The Taste's first season, Anthony Bourdain said he'd do another season “in a heartbeat.” Well, it looks as though he's getting that chance — ABC has renewed the show for a second season, and that season is casting in L.A. this weekend.

What's not as clear is who will sit beside Bourdain and his co-producer Nigella Lawson as judges. Neither San Diego chef Brian Malarky nor our own Ludo Lefebvre, both of whom served as judges last season, are mentioned in any of the marketing materials. A producer told The Braiser that Malarky and Lefebvre were “unconfirmed” right now. When we reached out to Lefebvre, he said he was unable to comment at this point.

Meanwhile, there's speculation that Los Angeles Magazine food blogger Eddie Lin may have snagged one of the judge's spots. That would make for a lot of TV-food-judging over at L.A. Mag, seeing as food editor Lesley Bargar Suter is a judge on the upcoming season of Top Chef Masters.

But enough about the fame and fortune of others, how about your fame and fortune? If you'd like to have a chance to appear as a contestant on The Taste, you can attend an open call this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at The Art Institute of California in Santa Monica. You'll need to pre-register here.
