If you missed H+: The Digital Series, Warner Premiere Digital's apocalyptic tale of computer implants in the human mind, when it premiered on YouTube in August, do yourself a favor and watch it. Now.

The innovative storytelling of first-time creators John Cabrera and Cosimo De Tommaso, riveting performances by an international cast and the exceptional production value on what a studio would define as a shoestring budget places H+ undeniably among the best of the web. Yet despite the prestige of its producer, Bryan Singer (director of X-Men and The Usual Suspects), and its double Streamy Award win this year, you've probably never heard of it.

H+ takes place in a not-so-distant future in which one-third of the world's population has a computer implant, called H+, connecting their mind to the Internet 24/7. That is, until a virus infects the network, instantly killing almost everyone implanted. The mystery of who created this virus and why begins to be revealed through 48 nonlinear episodes that span 12 countries, four interweaving plot lines and more than a decade of events.

The show originally released two episodes per week, but now you can watch the full series in six-episode chapters, skipping numerous credit sequences. Annotated episodes are available, offering pop-up links to clips from other episodes with information relevant to the story. Fans also have created chronological playlists for extra clarity.

It's interesting to note that despite its critical acclaim and strong viewership online, Warner Bros. is not looking to develop the show in traditional mediums but rather has hired Cabrera and De Tommaso to write a second digital season. “We meet on Fridays and it's like story time,” Warner's executive producer of digital, Lance Sloane, enthused about the development of season two. “We keep wanting to run and tell the TV and theatrical guys, 'This is amazing!' But we also want to keep it for ourselves.” —Stephanie Carrie
