Star Foreman
Thomas Kuntz, is a contemporary artist fighting to bring ancient arcana and modern technologies together as weapons for aesthetic enlightenment. As one of the pioneers of the garage kit industry Thomas Kuntz created legendary models for toy companies Screamin‘ Products Bowen Designs, Mattel, Ertl Company and Jakks Pacific from the late 80's till the late 90s. But models just weren't enough of a challenge for him, so he decided to go for more. Now Thomas creates Automata, and his creations are almost exclusively in the hands of the wealthy and discerning. Each Automata is made in editions of 3 or 4 at most. They breathe,drink, smoke and move- all through clockwork that Thomas creates himself. Every piece from start to finish comes from his wonderfully dark and twisty mind. We were given a once in a lifetime chance to explore his workspace and see his creations from beginning to end and we took a few photos along the way just for you. All photos by Star Foreman
