You now have three more months to enjoy the cooking of Ari Taymor and the hospitality of Ashleigh Parsons at the Standard Hotel. The Alma residency, which was originally slated to run through the end of this month, has been extended through Memorial Day.

Alma, one of the pioneers of downtown's high-end dining scene, closed in October as a result of what the owners describe as mounting legal costs from a lawsuit. The Alma residency offers a menu similar to the ambitious prix fixe one served at its former brick-and-mortar location.

”We are really looking forward to extending our time at the Standard,” Parsons says. “We are hoping to build on this momentum with various special events, chef dinners and, hopefully, brunch a little later this spring.”

That “hopefully” actually seems to be a “definitely,” as PR reps for the Standard tell me that Alma at the Standard will begin offering brunch in April.

Joey Jalleo,  VP of culture and communications for Standard International, says: “Alma at the Standard has completely exceeded our expectations, and we are beyond excited to be able to extend their stay with us through the spring.”

The residency currently serves Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5:30 to midnight.
