Most fathers just tell their sons to keep their rooms clean, get good grades and not get a girl pregnant in high school. Justin Halpern's father gave him more colorful advice, like “Listen up, if someone is being nice to you, and you don't know them, run away. No one is nice to you just to be nice to you, and if they are, well, they can go take their pleasant ass somewhere else.” After moving back in with his parents, Halpern turned a lifetimes' worth of similar, expletive-laced wisdom from his retired dad into the highly popular 2009 Twitter feed, Shit My Dad Says, which begat this year's book, Sh*t My Dad Says. Now, the Maxim writer gets to have everyone's favorite commanding officer, William Shatner, play his old man in the new CBS sitcom $#*! My Dad Says (pronounced “Bleep My Dad Says”). At the PaleyFest's Fall TV Preview Parties, you can be among the first to watch the pilot episode, enjoy free drinks and food and shoot the shit.
