With more than 7,800 acres of scorched land and 70 percent containment as of today, the San Bernardino Pilot Fire is still ablaze. The fire has displaced residents and wildlife from their homes and habitats in emergency fashion, leaving behind a trail of burnt vegetation, deer searching for safer ground, mountains and roads drenched in red fire retardant. Local people have left their homes, and firefighters are attempting to hold their fire lines as they fight the remaining flames and hot spots. But even with the inconvenience of the flaming intrusion, there was lots of local love and support for the firefighters, with residents sending them dinner to reward their valiant efforts.
