Farmers market favorite Carmela Ice Cream, which was hoping to simultaneously open a Pasadena storefront and launch a truck in mid-December, will finally roll out both ventures on January 10th.

Started in 2007 by Jessica Mortarotti and Zachary Cox, the line of seasonal ice creams earned a devoted following at local markets and stores. In its brick-and-mortar incarnation, Carmela Ice Cream Artisanal Creamery has a full-service kitchen where their ice cream will be produced and sold alongside custom toppings by Valerie Confections, teas and marshmallows by Sugarbird Teas & Sweets and cupcakes by Blue Cupcake. They are also in talks with Heirloom LA to create a lunch menu.
