UPDATE – The oven has been found undamaged in Venice after the trailer it was resting on detached from the truck hauling it away and is on its way back to The Rose.

The good news is that The Rose Venice is scheduled to re-open for outdoor dining service on Friday, February 5th.   The bad news is that pizza won’t be on the menu – yet.

Last Saturday night or early Sunday morning, the restaurant’s  two-ton custom made  Forza Forni pizza oven was stolen. The one of a kind unit is charcoal grey and was being stored in the parking lot on a trailer since the restaurant closed in early  December.  A police report has been filed with the Pacific Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Rose is offering a reward for anyone who is able to provide information. If anyone has seen it, The Rose is asking for people to call the restaurant at 310-399-0711 or DM them on Instagram at @therosevenice
