From military-themed beefcake bashes to mega-DJ all-nighters, there is, as always, a plethora of pumpin’ dance parties to choose from this Memorial weekend (see listings). But with the next few days likely to be a prelude to a summer of sizzling new sounds and socializing, we thought it fitting to highlight two outdoor DJ events as our picks, both of which happen to be pool parties. On Saturday, Release SF and Home:Made LA present the return of Wet, with what are sure to be refreshingly rhythmic sets by Andy Caldwell (Uno Recordings, OM), deep house man Julius Papp (Neodisco, S.F.), Franky Boissy (Pink, S.F.), Scotty K (Box Music, Therapy, L.A.) and Raul Campos (KCRW). After the sun goes down, the after-party will commence indoors with special surprise guests and a tag-team set from John Day and Justin Gourley (Giant). At the Custom Hotel, 8639 Lincoln Blvd., Westchester; Sat., May 24, 1-10 p.m. outside, 10 p.m.-2 a.m. inside; over 21; full bar. See www.homemadela.com and www.releasesf.com for ticket info.

On Sunday, prepare to drench yourself again at the launch of JetSet Sundays, a free, LAX-adjacent gathering from L7 featuring Jean Louis from Louis XIV, Terry Newsom and Sugar Ant Invasion on the decks. Food, ice cream and colorful cocktails will be available, as will pool toys, towels and lounge chairs — though with selectors like these on the bill, you shouldn’t have much need for the latter. At the newly renovated Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel, 6101 W. Century Blvd., L.A.; Sun., May 25 (and every Sun., thru Labor Day), 2-7 p.m. RSVP at www.l7scene.com.
