This is no April's Fool joke. Blue Palms Brewhouse is back. It was only two months, but for its fanatic local supporters, it seemed like two years. But you can stop holding your breath: Goldenvoice signed a lease for the Music Box Theatre next door, which enabled Blue Palms to get the sublease to return to the business of providing one of L.A.'s best beer selections. Owner Brian Lenzo says, “We were so moved by the outpouring of love and support. It kept us strong when we were down and wondering if we would ever be back in the Music Box. Hollywood is our home and we are thrilled to be back.”

Blue Palms will reward those loyal patrons with a Grand Re-opening bash this Sunday, April 1, from noon until closing time. Wristbands cost $40 and get you 10 taster beers. The beer list will be extra-special, according to bar manager Matt Olesh. Pliny the Younger will be a highlight, but there will be dozens of other superb brews to sample. Needless to say, full pours alsowill be available.

Jimmy Han, owner of the popular Beer Belly in Koreatown, tells us, “Hollywood is, well, Hollywood. It deserves a world-class beer bar and that is what Blue Palms is. They were sorely missed when they were closed, and the entire L.A. beer community is excited to have them back.”
