Follow L.A. Weekly as we head out into the desert to indulge our senses and invigorate our spirit in a hidden oasis meant to rejuvenate and inspire during spring’s hottest festival. This invite-only retreat takes place during 2022’s Festival Weekend One – Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 – at a private estate, equipped with gifting suites, wellness activations, curated art exhibitions, secret musical performances, culinary pop-ups and more.

Hollywood darlings alongside musicians, artists, influencers and all-star chefs make up the majority of the posh, private guest list, with some of media’s biggest personalities invited to kick back and splash as well. With so many blue check marks relaxing in one place, The Retreat (as this three-day festival recovery estate is so aptly named) is sure to be streamed and storied for all to enjoy. While big desert stage performances are incredible, the opportunity to get a backstage look at talent as they unwind is sure to be a priceless and memorable experience.

The Retreat begins at 2 p.m. Friday, for a kick-off intended to guide guests in the shedding of their daily stressors, readying festival-goers to embrace the unforgettable and extraordinary experiences that surely await them in Indio. The party continues on Saturday, offering respite from the sun-drenched stages and pampering to those in need of a reset. Almost medicinal in its necessity, The Retreat wraps with a brunch from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., bidding guests farewell with a rejuvenating and invigorating afternoon.

The Retreat’s carefully curated activations include a meditative memory station courtesy of luxury skincare brand Míage, where guests will enjoy a chance to recharge their senses, protect their skin from the harsh desert heat, and enjoy a proprietary gifting opportunity in partnership with McKayla Maroney. The Retreat will also include one-of-a-kind experiential opportunities with the BMW Performance Driving School, Shields Date Garden and plant-based wellness brand Kurvana

Refreshments will be served courtesy of Cool Cat wine spritzers, Superbird canned tequila soda with Tres Generaciones offering a custom lounge in which to imbibe and vibe.

Not without its mystery, The Retreat has partnered with renowned artists from their respective industries to delight party-goers with curiosities such as Poncho the Artist’s mobile tattoo parlor where guests can make weekend memories permanent, a tasting of Leo the Chef’s Peninsula Lounge and Tango, a musical performance by musical trail-blazer Moxie Raia, as well as DJ sets with artists not yet revealed.

Gifting sponsors for The Retreat include Vanessa Hudgens’ Caliwater, mou summer footwear, Canadian Classics, POM Tea, Wonderful Pistachios, Mule 2.0, Fix Your Lid, Candy Pop, Brewery X, Celsius, SouthNorte Cocktails and New Belgium

The Retreat’s oasis seems like a dream, proving that sometimes reality far exceeds imagination. Stay tuned for updates.
