The Kings — that would be our hometown hockey team, not Sacramento's basketball outfitwon Lord Stanley's Cup on Monday night. And to celebrate winning the Holy Grail of sports, Filipino BBQ joint The Park's Finest will offer a special World Champions Combo Plate today from noon to 8 p.m., which includes BBQ, rice, vegetables and cornbread for just $10. For those who come in wearing Kings apparel, a cocktail or beer will be on the house.

As for the Kings themselves, tradition permits each member of the team to spend a day with the Cup, which is sort of like taking an extra-special class pet home for a night. Team captain Dustin Brown was first to take home the trophy; he filled it with chocolate milk, and his kids, dressed up in Spider-Man costumes, blew chocolate milk bubbles. Suddenly, eating BBQ in Kings gear in the middle of June doesn't seem so strange after all.
