It's August in Los Angeles. Time to listen to Vin Scully on the radio (here's that Time Warner petition), dream of rain, and get tickets to our Pancake Breakfast. Plan your weekend events and juice fasts accordingly. If you haven't seen the (pink!) artwork on your neighborhood's LA Weekly newspaper box, here's a reminder that the annual Pancake Breakfast is coming. Your local food event, as a huge boozy brunch.

This year's event is being held at the Park Plaza Hotel, near MacArthur Park, on Sunday, August 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Curated by the lovely and talented Evan Kleiman, the restaurants coming include, in convenient alphabetical order: A-Frame, Amara's Chocolate & Coffee, Beachwood Cafe, Berlin Currywurst, BLD, Canelé, Copenhagen Pastry, East Borough, Eggslut, EuroPane Bakery, Farmshop, Fifty Seven, Fred 62, Goldie's, Good Girl Dinette, Gottsui, Huckleberry Bakery & Cafe …
