QADR: “Best concert ever” is a trap question and we resent you for it, but ok here we go…

I was once completely transformed as a person and problematic munk after seeing Alsarah & the Nubatones at Motorco. I cried, I laughed, I lost 15lbs. Beforehand, we hung out with the band, took very bad photo booth pictures, drank too much whiskey and loved on ourselves as margins of the margins. I’m pretty sure I was flirting with a few band members, or they were flirting with me…or they were flirting with my gf. Either way, tensions were high and we ended up having a pretty haram fist fight in the Cocoa Cinnamon parking lot, yelling nasheeds and cuss words.

This dude, Obama, walked up and asked Alsarah for an autograph, so the fight ended pretty abruptly and I bought us another round of whiskey, but no one was drunk– that’s haram. I wore my jesus sandals to this show so it was pretty difficult to mosh, so I stood front row and quietly heckled my new favorite band as they played beautiful and melodic songs, including my favorite song: “Fugu Shams Alhurria.” I feel like that song was written about me but I know asking will probably get my ass beat.

Hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to. I stan Alsarah & the Nubatones.
