Eban Schletter, the wildly talented composer-musician who brought us the celebrity-infused musical variety spectacle Eban Schletter's Witching Hour, returns with Cosmic Christmas. Let's let him describe it: “The show is a performance of my album Cosmic Christmas — named one ot the ‘top 10 weirdest Christmas albums' by Metromix — and features theremin versions of Christmas standards plus original songs, with vocals from Crissy Guerrero, Tracy DeNisi, Grant Lee Phillips and others. It tells the story of a military satellite lost in deep space that comes into contact with an energy field made up of distilled Christmas. Kris McGaha plays the mainframe computer — think “Mother” in Alien — and Daamen Krall is the Translator Application, who is supposed to decipher the strange transmission that has woken up the satellite from a long sleep. Throughout the show, at the Glendale Planetarium, stars, planets and animation are projected onto the planetarium dome.” The Nutcracker, it ain't.

Sundays, 5 & 7 p.m. Starts: Dec. 5. Continues through Dec. 19, 2010
