As if it wasn't already clear by now, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart really could do it all musically. When he wasn't assembling intricate yet emotionally varied piano workouts and chamber music, the Austrian legend was composing elaborately fanciful operas. And when he wasn't traipsing all over Europe as a prodigy on the piano, he was penning sophisticated, deeply moving full-length symphonies. English harpsichordist and period-music aficionado Trevor Pinnock takes the reins of the L.A. Phil as guest conductor for an all-Mozart concert that shows the great composer's range, from the overture to La clemenza di Tito and assorted German dances to Symphony No. 39 in E-flat, K. 543. The young Italian pianist Beatrice Rana, who has a sensitively dynamic style, stars on Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 9.
