This is an old video from Happy Hollows, from 2006, but it's kinda my new favorite song. In it, singer Sara Negahdari keeps running: from a Mullah, through the jungle, from the Hessians, from the Russians (rhyming Hessians and Russians is particularly inspired). We stumbled across this video, which we hadn't seen in a few years, when we were trying to figure out what was up with the Happy Hollows, who opened for Silversun Pickups at the Glass House last Sunday. It's funny when a song doesn't click at one point in time, but hear it somewhere else in a different context, and it's a new best song.

The band released a new EP in January, and its most recent song, “High Wire,” which you can hear on their MySpace page, is just as strong and catchy. The Happy Hollows play a show that promises to be an LA music highlight of the spring: with the Afternoons and War Paint at the Troubadour on Thursday, May 14. Put it on your calendar.
