You've told everyone that you “sometimes do it.” You've crafted a YouTube user name based on it. You've even claimed your status at a barbecue or two and swatted away others when they tried to choose the next song. So now it's time — time to prove that you are, in fact, a DJ. If you can get through a 30-minute set without getting gonged off the turntables at Los Globos Tuesday night, you are officially required to update your OKCupid occupation to “Artist/Musician/Writer.” And you can add in the details: I choose the records, and I make the party. At So You Think You Can DJ!!? , try hauling in your vinyl, CDs, iPod or laptop and spin as many MGMT/Al Green remixes as possible before the judges yank your plug. First drink is on the house, plus you get underground bonus points if Shazam can't identify your tracks. And if you suck, don't worry — the So You Think You Can DJ!!? amateur DJ competition is happening every Tuesday night in July. Email brandy@clublosglobos.com to sign up. Los Globos, 3040 W. Sunset Blvd., Echo Park; Tues., July 2, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. (323) 666-6669, clublosglobos.com.
