The #FreeTheNipple Topless Parade Brings the Gender Equality Battle to Venice Beach

Free the Nipple is a nationwide campaign that holds its best-known event, Go Topless Day, in more than 60 locations across the world. The event is intended to raise awareness of gender equality and to advocate for changes to indecency laws that are common throughout the United States and the world. 

While the events at Brighton Beach and Edinburgh in the United Kingdom tend to be respectful, the Venice Beach Parade and rally were anything but. There was about a 3-to-1 ratio of photographers to protesters, and the photographers took full advantage, snapping the men and women who were naked from the waist up.
