Think of the L.A. Times Festival of Books as the antithesis of its main sponsor: crowded, popular and bursting with too many things to read. Unlike that other upstart festival (see GoLA), this one's free and has a zillion lit-stars, including the author of my all-time favorite book (Geek Love) Katherine Dunn, who has a new collection of essays on boxing (whatever — but I bet it's pretty great). Too many famous authors to mention.
