It's a big weekend for the Southern California dance music scene. The Hard Summer festival is soaking up most of the spotlight with is edgy lineup and park-side location.

Saturday: Hard Summer returns to Los Angeles, this time to a new venue near Chinatown. The lineup is vast, but we like the new-wave nostalgia of Digitalism, the techno camp of Tiga and dub-punk of Major Lazer. Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1245 N. Spring St., Los Angeles. 18+. Info.

Saturday: The kine, progressive grooves of Dirty South represents a sure thing at Avalon Hollywood. 1735 N. VIne St., Hollywood. 21+. Info.
