Been to Whittier lately? Been to Whittier ever? Well, this is your chance if you are a beer fan. For the third anniversary of the comfy, brick-walled Bottle Room, owners Brandon Ibrahim and Patrick Best, a couple of L.A. City firemen, and their chef/co-owner Tony Alcazar, will offer a beer list worth driving to Vegas for — so just think of Whittier as less than halfway.

The list of liquid goodness includes the Bruery's Sour in the Rye, Epic's Brainless Belgian and Hopulent, Craftman's El Prieto (dark sour), Bootlegger's Knuckle Sandwich and Lupulis Thrill, Bear Republic's Racer X and Ryevalry, Avery's Maharaja, Firestone's Double Jack, and Stone's Levitation, Ruination and Collaboration Texas Brown Ale. The Bottle Room will offer full pours or flights of four on paddles so you can taste them all.

The event is Sunday, March 11, from 3-10 p.m., and with 24 rotating taps, there will be even more beer revealed throughout the day. The food also will be “special” for the anniversary: The Big Guy's brioche bakery pretzels, Sincronizada quesadilla “sandwiches,” Tony's spicy pulled-pork tacos, bacon-wrapped dogs with jalapeno aioli and one of the best burgers in L.A. County.
