The Bots and the Animal Collective: Mikaiah Lei of L.A. rockers told us about his Animal Collective experience.

Mikaiah Lei: The best live performance I’ve ever seen is Animal Collective. I was lucky enough to get to see them perform two nights in a row during their Painting With tour. They performed two entirely different sets each night: they played half of the new record with a mix of some older tunes and the second night was the other half of the record.

They were so tight and seamlessly transitioned song into song. I danced the entire night without a care in my body – it was easily one of the funniest, loudest, wildist, concerts I’ve ever been to. I really look forward to seeing them again whenever they put out a new record. Definitely one of my top favorite bands – so inspiring in so many ways.
