Rob Delaney is a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He pitches right-handed and bats left-handed. He's not to be confused with comedian Rob Delaney — although that confusion is understandable if you read the title of the memoir comedian Rob Delaney is signing tonight: Mother. Wife. Sister. Human. Warrior. Falcon. Yardstick. Turban. Cabbage. He might bat left-handed as well, for all you know; he's a man of many talents. He's also one of the new breed of comedians whose career has been boosted immeasurably by Twitter. A recovering alcoholic, correspondent for Vice and inadvertent crash-test dummy (ask the L.A. DWP; they'll tell you) who was a pen pal with the band Danzig in his youth, he's now so popular that almost a million followers on Twitter can't be wrong — just poorer. For having bought his book, not having read it, that is. New Beverly Cinema, 7165 Beverly Blvd., Fairfax District; Tues., Nov. 12, doors open at 6 p.m.; $30 + tax (includes a copy of the book). (310) 659-3110, booksoup.com.

Tue., Nov. 12, 7 p.m., 2013
