Wow, that was fast! In a whirlwind of top-notch performances from legends and buzz bands alike, pool parties, and rain, Coachella's first weekend is over. Here are our scribes' favorite moments from Sunday. See you next weekend!

Tupac Shakur Hologram at the Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg performance

Someone standing on the edges of the tens of thousands of attendees at Coachella's Sunday headlining performance might have wondered, why the fuck would Dr. Dre approve dressing up someone like Tupac Shakur and sending him out there as part of the show? But they would have quickly realized — hey, that's NOT a person. That is a hologram, a computer generated image of Tupac that Snoop Dogg is out there performing with in tandem. At that moment, it went from cheesy to all-out weird. It evoked images of rapping with a ghost, or perhaps a Jurassic Park moment necessitating a quote from Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm: Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. -Adam Lovinus

The Weather and the Musician-Inspired Ice Cream

The high Sunday was 81 degrees. The perfect weather turned Coachella into the festival we knew and loved again. There were shirtless dudes baking in the sun, girls dancing in bikinis. The next logical step? Cool Haus ice cream sandwiches! The $6 treats were named (or renamed) for musicians playing the fest; I had the Gary Clark Jr.-inspired sandwich, which was made with whiskey ice cream and fruity pebbles. Yum. –Lilledeshan Bose

Seun Kuti, Outdoor Stage

Nigerian showman Seun Kuti's afternoon performance on the Outdoor stage spoke to the young crowd, who responded to his music and expressions of political activism. “This is for my father,” he shouted over the cheers, to honor the legacy of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, whose songs inspired a generation of Nigerians. At Coachella, everyone from hippie chicks to beefed-up bros felt the energy. Sweat streamed down Kuti's back until, arms raised, he and his backup dancers ran offstage to the screams of his new fans. -Gabrielle Canon

The Campgrounds

The campgrounds around Coachella were almost as much of a party as the festival itself. People set up miniature tent cities in which they played beer-pong and painted each others faces while waiting for friends to congregate in between sets. The sites were grungy in a good way; members of L.A.'s favorite hooligan clique Odd Future were spotted roaming around late Friday night. And after the festival officially ended last night, with Snoop and Dr. Dre's star-studded set, the campgrounds erupted into an all out party. It continued until the wee hours, with music from cars and jovial cheers bleating out the final notes of this Coachella. -Kai Flanders

Promptness

If we said there would be a rap show featuring the biggest names in hip-hop, and it would start on time — to the minute — you would have giggled manically. But that's what happened at the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg show last night, and the bevy of guest stars came out in an extremely timely fashion as well. In fact, every show we saw on Coachella's first weekend was super prompt. Word! –Ben Westhoff
