“The Best Gig I Ever Saw” is a weekly column that will see us ask a musician to chat about their favorite concert thus far. This week it’s L.A. dark pop star Delacey

The best gig I ever saw was most definitely Bob Dylan. It was a couple years ago. My love for Dylan comes from my dad who always shared my obsession. We spent my whole childhood blasting his music and spent many hours analyzing his songwriting and style. I saw he was playing in Arizona and booked front row seats for me and my dad. We roadtripped there, and even though he only played a short show and even though he definitely doesn’t sound like he used to, I cried. So many goosebumps. We weren’t even allowed to have our phones so I have no evidence I was there. But that night, with my dad, being so close to Bob Dylan I could almost touch him, I’ll never forget how that felt.

Delacey plays at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 at Hotel Cafe.
