Mikky Ekko, The Peach Kings

Best known as the male counterpart to Rihanna on worldwide chart-smashing hit “Stay,” Mikky Ekko is breaking away from the famed duet, which he helped to co-write, and paving his way as a solo artist. On the heels of his debut album Time, out this January on RCA Records, and acclaimed single “Pull Me Down,” Ekko performs at Bardot's “School Night” with Highland Park indie rockers The Peach Kings.

They impressed audiences at last year's Make Music Pasadena, Echo Park Rising and Lightning in a Bottle with their ferocious harmonies and twangy, banjo-driven spirit.

After nearly taking over the world in 2011 with the ultra-sassy and ultra-infectious “Awkward,” Australian indie pop outfit San Cisco have returned to dominate again with their forthcoming album Gracetown. Enlisting producer Steven Schram (Paul Kelly, The Cat Empire), the band pushed themselves to experiment, while still maintaining the crunchy-pop sound we first fell in love with. Catch their set at 6 p.m. before they head off to play a sold-out Troubadour.

Tuxedo DJ Set (Mayer Hawthorne & Jake One)

When Grammy-nominated artists Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One first exchanged mixtapes back in 2006, they unknowingly started a funk revolution. The neo-soul artist and the hip-hop producer collaborated on three songs that, after nearly a decade of writing between personal projects, eventually grew to become their collaborative funky R&B album, Tuxedo, Hawthorne's first release with Stones Throw Records since his 2009 debut, A Strange Arrangement.

Folk-rock and vintage car enthusiast Ben Vaughn is a man of many talents. He converted his 1965 Rambler American into a recording studio to work on his 1997 album Rambler '65, produced Ween's classic album 12 Golden Country Greats, composed for shows like That '70s Show and 3rd Rock from the Sun, and hosts a weekly show on NPR, The Many Moods of Ben Vaughn.

Overseen by world-renowned tenor and conductor Plácido Domingo, the L.A. Opera's Young Artists Program provides support and training for promising youth as they transition into a professional career in opera. Through courses in musical and vocal coaching, language studies and performing arts, the program participants study under members of the L.A. Opera music staff and guest coaches to strengthen their already exceptional talents. Catch their performance at 6 p.m.
