Dax Riggs
THE SATELLITE
Dax Riggs comes crawling out of the swamps of Louisiana to deliver tunes from his most recent solo album, Say Goodnight to the World. Ever since he was a teenager, the singer-guitarist has howled his moody imprecations with a series of heavy bands and more stripped-down projects, including metal outfit Acid Bath, metal-folk combo Agents of Oblivion and stoner-blues duo Deadboy & the Elephantmen. On Say Goodnight, Riggs comes off like a Southern cousin of Mark Lanegan, as he croons in a low baritone amid funereal organ on “See You All in Hell or New Orleans” and lightly strums the fragile acoustic ballad “You Were Born to Be My Gallows.” He draws on his stoner-rock roots on the album’s title track, on which he shouts into a bottomless well and summons an army of hard, bluesy guitars. — Falling James
K. Michelle
SABAN THEATRE
A veteran of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop reality brand, K. Michelle’s enhanced derriere may be the asset that she’s most commonly associated with, but unlike many of her reality-star peers, the chanteuse possesses undeniable talent. A trained vocalist, pianist and guitarist, K. Michelle honed her powerhouse vocals while attending FAMU on a music scholarship. After a deal went sour with Jive, she released 2013’s Rebellious Soul, her Atlantic Records debut. Her sophomore release, 2014’s Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart?, made Rolling Stone’s “Best Albums of 2014” list and features the single “Maybe I Should Call.” The Tennessee-bred star admits that the track is inspired by her relationship with silver-screen heartthrob and ex-beau Idris Elba. K. Michelle is lauded for her emotive and vocally pristine live show, so tonight’s attendees should get their money’s worth. — Jacqueline Michael Whatley

Gwen Stefani
ORPHEUM THEATRE
Now that Gwen Stefani is a judge on The Voice and a glittery fashion icon with her own line of perfume, clothing and even dolls, it’s sometimes hard to remember that the singer first came to attention as a nervous, buoyantly energetic teenager when she joined No Doubt in 1995. Back then, long before she became a slick dance-pop diva, Stefani was inspired by Bow Wow Wow vocalist Annabella Lwin and the retro-ska style of The Specials. It’s been eight years since Stefani’s last full-length solo album, The Sweet Escape, but she gives a revealing tease of her upcoming next album with the video for “Spark the Fire.” With its singsong delivery and boxy beat, the rap-inflected track is moderately catchy, although it lacks the kind of memorable melody that marks Stefani’s best tunes. — Falling James
M/A/N/Ø/S
GLITTER DEATH
Once a solo project for veteran L.A. DJ/musician Adam XVI (XVI Days, Cougar), M/A/N/Ø/S only became a duo with the addition of member Christos last year. They played their first show in early January. With the release of a six-song EP, Daboque Vos in Manu Mea, they’re ready to make waves with folks who like their electronic music minimal and a little unnerving. Joining them is duo Xultur, featuring Sarah Toon, aka local DJ Blk Rainbow. They play hard, sometimes gabber-fast electronic beats peppered with creepy synth lines and occasional horror-movie screams. Synth-y solo artist Erleen Nada and metal-meets-electronic duo Chiildren round out the bill at Hollywood shop Glitter Death. The party continues after the show, when M/A/N/Ø/S head downtown to DJ at the Lash. — Liz Ohanesian

Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga
THE WILTERN
Who would’ve guessed that the maximalist electro-pop Mother Monster who once wore raw flank steak for a dress would one day pair up with an octogenarian crooner? Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett cemented their unlikely partnership with last year’s Cheek to Cheek, a charming collection of American jazz standards by the likes of George Gershwin and Cole Porter. But their partnership dates back to 2011, and their hard-won chemistry shows through in duets such as “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love” and “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down).” They make a dashing pair onstage, but they’re sure to look extra glamorous tonight, considering they’re also booked to play the Grammys earlier in the evening. — Peter Holslin
