Singer/actress Christina Milian and Louisiana native Elizabeth Morris’ Beignet Box truck, which has been crisscrossing the country over the past year, has found a permanent parking spot in Studio City. The ribbon has been cut on their new brick-and-mortar cafe that features all the favorites from the truck that has a cult following – puff pastry-like NOLA style beignets made to order, cafe au lait, sweet tea and lemonade.

On Wednesday, April 28, James Beard Foundation Award winner Nancy Silverton’s first new restaurant opening since 2013 – The Barish – debuts at The Hollywood Roosevelt. The  Italian-inspired steakhouse is in the  hotel’s landmarked lobby and features a variety of dry-aged cuts of beef and a menu of pasta al forno – baked pastas cooked in the wood fire – as well as  grilled abalone mushrooms with porcini butter and an iceberg wedge with Trufflebert hazelnuts.

And speaking of dry-aged beef, Lawry’s The Prime Rib and The Tam O’Shanter are celebrating National Prime Rib Day on Tuesday, April 27, offering 45-day dry-aged prime rib. At Tam’s, choose from four cuts with a choice of two sides like creamed spinach, creamed corn and mashed potatoes. Lawry’s has a choice of six various cuts of certified Angus beef including 45-day dry-aged prime rib either a la carte or as a dinner that includes the famous spinning bowl salad we have missed so dearly during the pandemic, mashed potatoes, classic Yorkshire pudding, and Lawry’s whipped cream horseradish. The dry-aged prime rib will be available April 23-27 for dine-in and takeout. The specialty prime rib is aged for 45 days during which the moisture is drawn out of the beef, intensifying its natural flavor and making it more tender with a buttery, slightly nutty flavor.
