Liam is the 2022 most popular name for boys. Liam is a popular name in the United Kingdom. Some people named Liam are named this as a nickname for “William.” The name has Irish and Old Germanic roots — it’s the shortened form of the name Ulliam. One famous person named Liam is the former Oasis frontman, Liam Gallagher.

2. Noah

Noah is a name with biblical roots (aka Noah from the story, Noah’s arc). The name Noah has Hebrew origins which means “to comfort.”

Olivia is the #1 in 2022 top 10 baby names for girls. The name Olivia is related to another 2022 top 10 baby names — Olivia is the feminine version of the name Oliver.

2. Emma

The name Emma is also a popular name for girls. The name is sometimes the short form of other names for girls — such as Emmeline, Emily, or Amelia.

3. Charlotte

Charlotte is a name that many royal women have been given in the past and present. For instance, it’s the name of the Princess of Wales. But several European nobilities have also been named this — such as the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, Queen of Cyprus, Princess of Monaco, and many more!

4. Amelia

Amelia is also a popular name for women. The Hebrew meaning of the name is to “strive” or be “industrious.” One woman who lived up to the meaning of the name was the legendary aviator, Amelia Earhart.

Some male baby names that are growing in popularity are Dutton, Kayce, Chosen, Khaza, and Eithan. However, there’s been a decrease in the popularity of some baby boy names — such as the names Jacoby, Turner, Aydin, Juelz, and Jamal.

There are also some female given names that are slowly becoming trendy. Such as Wrenlee, Neriah, Arlet, Georgina, and Amiri. On the other hand, the names Tatiana, Alaiya, Jaylene, Aarna, and Zoie somewhat declined in popularity from 2021 to 2022.
