Didn't the LAPD just saturate the city with checkpoints and DUI “saturation patrols” during Super Bowl weekend? They did. And New Year's Eve? Ditto. The holidays? Yep.

The thing is, they don't stop: Even as you're thanking God it's Friday, the boys and girls in blue are planning new and inventive ways to bust your ass if you drink and drive.

And so, here's your handy DUI and saturation patrol guide for the Weekend.

Go Trojans: A DUI checkpoint will be set up from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on South Figueroa Street between 31st Street and Jefferson Boulevard near campus Saturday.

Use Vermont.

Look out, San Pedro: A DUI “saturation patrol” is set for the area Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Where? All over. And it's said to be a “zero-tolerance” operation. Meaning, no story in the world is going to get you out of it.

Here's a friendly quote from LAPD Sgt. Sean Karmody:

“For those who don't care about their own safety or the safety of others, BEWARE – We're looking for you. If we catch you behind the wheel of your car, truck or ride your motorcycle buzzed, you will go to jail this weekend.”

(There's no jail time, apparently, for using all caps and bad grammar).

Cheers.
