Tuesday night, Zócalo hosted a tribute to Gourmet Magazine at the Skirball Center, with Laurie Ochoa, Jonathan Gold and Ruth Reichl in discussion with Evan Kleiman. Bloggers sat braced with their phones, calculating the perfect 140 character report. Their tweets, after the jump.

Jonathan Gold managed to tweet the next morning, after a midnight meal at Jitlada, tweeted by Reichl, and retweeted by her followers.

ruthreichl Zocolo, then midnight Jitlada feast: miang kam; black pepper crab; morning glory salad. Thai food's not this good in NY.

thejgold Last night's Zocalo event with Laurie Ochoa, @evankleiman and @ruthreichl was bittersweet-we mourned Gourmet, our drowned Atlantis.

While bloggers undoubtedly longed to hear the names of their blogs uttered by Reichl, Ochoa and Gold, when Sara Leib asked them for a list of their favorite food blogs, Chez Pim was the first named.

chezpim Not cranky anymore – someone just told me @ruthreichl said last night on a panel that Chez Pim was 1 of her favorite blogs 🙂

Blogger Sinosoul sent out a tweet to Jitlada waitress Withlovesirine, wondering if she'd spotted Reichl eating morning glory salad at midnight.

sinosoul hey @withlovesirine, did you @ruthreichl last night @jitladala??? I know you worked 🙂 about 3 hours ago from BeTwittered

gastronomyblog@wired2theworld @Glutton_In_LA @mylast bite I'm tempted to save my wrist band from the talk just like I do for rock shows. Nerd alert! 😉

My last bite I SO get it! https://tinyurl.com/ya39mnq RT @GastronomyBlog: I kind of just want to write a post about how I met my food writing hero…

mylastbite Me too! RT @Glutton_In_LA: @GastronomyBlog I will be sure to catch the pod cast tomorrow! Sigh…

mylastbite and she's so SASSY, right? (Met her last year) RT @GastronomyBlog: @wired2theworld Her voice was as buttery in person as in her books 😉

vicegirl last night's zocalo event (@ruthreichl, @thejgold, laurie ochoa, evan kleiman on demise of gourmet) was fascinating but sad…what a loss.
