A 14-year-old girl was charged Friday in the murders of her grandparents in Rosemead, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Sophia Janalisa Cristo would be charged as an adult, the office stated. Her 21-year-old boyfriend, Rodolfo Lopez, also faced two counts of murder. The duo was nabbed, along with a vehicle belonging to the elderly victims, in Texas, the D.A.'s office stated.

Seventy-one-year-old Jack Bezner, and his 64-year-old wife Susan, were found dead at their San Gabriel Valley home in the 4200 block of Arica Avenue about 8 p.m. Monday. Authorities said they had been stabbed.

The D.A. states that Cristo will not be eligible for the death penalty because of her age but that Lopez could be because they have added a special circumstance of multiple murders to its filing.

Both were being held without bail.
