In a first for us, prosecutors say they busted a pimping operation that involved a mother and son working together.

An indictment handed down by a federal grand jury today alleges that Long Beach's Joshua Jerome Davis, 22, and his mom, Sharilyn Kae Anderson, 45, put a 15-year-old girl on the web to turn tricks. Prosecutors allege he wooed her on Facebook:

The duo was hit with charges of “child sex trafficking; coercion and enticement of a minor; transporting a minor; and aiding and abetting,” according to a statement from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which investigated the case alongside Long Beach police.

Davis was re-arrested Aug. 8 in Las Vegas. Anderson, the mom, was arrested yesterday based on a previous criminal complaint, authorities said.

They said the victim, now 17, was found with Anderson. She was put in a shelter.

ICE says the investigation started last year after the teen's father reported her missing.

Feds say Davis met the girl on Facebook when she was only 14. Months later she was advertising her wares on a website, ICE says.

The duo allegedly made her work out of Southern California hotels, officials say. The girl had to pay Davis 30 percent of her earnings, feds alleged.

Davis even went to Las Vegas after being arrested for allegedly pimping the teenager in spring in order to reunite with her and get her to work there, according to an ICE statement.

Mother and son were both in court today. Both were being held without bail.

Sex trafficking of a child carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.
