19-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Car Crash on North Avenue

FRESNO, CA (April 7, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, a 19-year-old victim was killed in an auto accident on Temperance Avenue.

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m., near the intersection of North and Temperance Avenue.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a Toyota Rav4 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. As a result, the Rav4 traveled directly into the path of a Toyota Corolla.

The Corolla struck the passenger side of the Rav4, causing serious injuries to one of the drivers. Eventually, the victim identified as 19-year-old Gourav, of Clovis only died at the scene. Officers did not disclose his first name.

In addition, investigators say Gourav did not wear a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle after overturning.

Following preliminary investigation, officers believed that alcohol did not play a role in the collision. Once available, further details will be provided.
