1 Injured and 1 Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near Myrtle Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 8, 2022)Tuesday evening, a 17-year-old boy was killed and his passenger was hurt in a solo-car crash on Hall Road.

The incident took place around 9:00 p.m, along Hall Road, just east of Myrtle Road.

California Highway Patrol officers said the 17-year-old boy was driving a 2014 Acura east on Hall Road. For reasons unknown, he veered right and drove over a raised concrete curb before striking a block wall.

Police confirmed that the driver and his 17-year-old passenger were not wearing their seatbelts prior the collision. Medics took the passenger, with major injuries, to a hospital for further treatment.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one Lamont teen dead. Although, authorities have not released the identities of the deceased victim and the injured passenger.

California Highway Patrol officers stated that it is uncertain if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. However, an active investigation is still currently ongoing.
