Pedestrian Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on 47th Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard

SACRAMENTO, CA (November 17, 2021) – A 15-year-old male pedestrian sustained injuries following a hit-and-run crash on 47th Avenue.

The incident happened at 7:45 p.m., Friday at the intersection of 47th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.

According to officials, the 15-year-old man was crossing in the crosswalk against a red light when a black Mercedes ML 300 on 47th Ave running on a green light struck him.

The impact of the collision threw the pedestrian onto the sidewalk, where he fell unconscious.

Medics then transported him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the motorist did not stop and continued on 47th Avenue toward Franklin Avenue.

Sacramento police continue to ask anyone who witness the crash to reach them at (916) 879-5600.
