Teen Dead in Police Pursuit Crash on North Camino Alto

VALLEJO, CA (August 24, 2022) – Friday, a 17-year-old boy died, and a 16-year-old girl sustained injuries after a crash on Tuolumne Street.

The accident took place on August 5th, at around 12:37 a.m., near the intersection of Tuolumne Street and North Camino Alto.

According to reports, the 17-year-old boy was driving a red Chevrolet pickup at a high rate of speed. Police spotted the speeding Chevrolet and tried to pull it over. The boy instead fled and led the police on a short pursuit before the pickup truck crashed. The boy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency personnel was dispatched to the site of the incident shortly after. Medics pronounced the 17-year-old dead at the scene, due to the extent of his injuries. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old girl passenger suffered minor injuries.
