15-Year-Old Boy Dead after Van Crashes into Liquor Store near Normandie Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 5, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a teen boy was killed in an SUV crash on West 54th Street.

Police received dispatch calls in the area around 4:00 a.m., at the 1403 block of West 54th Street near Normandie Avenue.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of an SUV lost control and drove directly into a nearby liquor store. First responders located the 15-year-old boy inside the vehicle. Authorities said it took 34 firefighters to extinguish the fire caused by the collision in under half an hour.

Due to the extent of his condition, the 15-year-old boy later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. However, his identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
