Teddy Grossman Flexes with Foy

After the Barclays show, Foy and another 4 or 5 of us headed to an Irish pub in Hell’s Kitchen owned by a friend of theirs (Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol), which was closed at the time. We walked right in and headed down to the basement, sharing pints of Guinness and hand-rolled cigarettes – as one does. As I’m on my way back from the bathroom, down the stairs walk Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z, with a very small entourage. By the time I get back to the group to let them know, I turn around to the outstretched hand of Beyoncé, as she warmly says: “Hi, I’m Beyoncé.” After a round of hello’s, (dabbing up Jay-Z etc.) we quickly form a circle and watch in awe as Ed and Foy go song for song, passing the guitar back and forth for another hour or two.

 
Though I admittedly don’t listen to much of Ed’s music, I was also blown away by him that night – he is spectacular. As B said, the guy is an “encyclopedia of music”.  And of course it was so cool to watch Jay & Bey revel in awe of Foy, a true artist’s artist, as close to the source as it gets. So needless to say, it was a pretty cool night.
